On Friday, November 11, 2016 the Town of Boston hosted a very special dinner at Luccarelli’s Banquet Facility honoring U.S. military veterans who are residents of the Town. It was a small gesture of the community’s appreciation for the sacrifices made by these brave men and women in their service to our nation. All active and retired members of the United States armed forces who reside in the Town of Boston were invited to this event, which fittingly was held on Veterans Day. It was free for veterans and their guests. Nearly 250 attended.
The veterans dinner was the first of several events being planned as part of the Town’s bicentennial celebration, as 2017 will mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Town of Boston. Among the other upcoming events are holiday dinners for the Town’s senior citizens, and the grand opening of the Town’s new ice rink.
