Nearly 1,000 people gathered on the grounds of the Town Hall on December 30 to celebrate Winterfest. And a great time was had by all.
It all began with the official ribbon cutting to open the town’s two new ice rinks. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not completely cooperate, as warm temperatures leading up to the event meant that the ice was not fully frozen and therefore not suitable for skating.
But the spirits of those in attendance at Winterfest were not dampened, as they were still able to enjoy many other activities including horse drawn wagon rides, a reindeer petting zoo, dog sled racing demonstrations, appearances by Elsa and Anna from Disney’s Frozen, music, sledding and snowman building contest, as well as free chili and hot chocolate. The festivities culminated in a spectacular fireworks display in the winter sky.
